About us As the oldest program of its kind in the United States, Art Therapy Studio is proud to serve as a model for other programs around the world. For more than fifty years we have helped thousands of people effectively manage trauma, disability, and illness, supporting their rehabilitation goals and enhancing their well-being through artistic expression. COVID-19 presents a significant challenge to our programming, but we identified remote applications that allow ATS staff to be present in the lives of our artists and even reach new audiences through virtual online experiences. ATS’ clinical and administrative staff worked hard to find alternative means of delivering our services for free to anyone who needs them. This switch from art therapy in the studio and onsite throughout our region, to no-cost distance learning-style interactions required considerable staff time and technical infrastructure capacity-building, and we are actively seeking funding to help cover the cost of this change and underwrite the delivery of these services for free to our community.
