About us Grounded in evolving research , City Year focuses on supporting the development, growth and success of students in systemically under-resourced schools, while preparing our AmeriCorps members to be leaders in their communities and careers. 76 City Year Cleveland AmeriCorps members serve in nine Cleveland Metropolitan School District schools (6 K-8 and 3 high schools) in the Glenville, Central, Slavic Village and Buckeye/Shaker neighborhoods. Young, diverse City Year AmeriCorps members, who commit to a year of full-time service and leadership development, serve as tutors, mentors and role models in our partner schools, providing holistic support to students with their attendance, social-emotional learning, and English/math coursework.
