Ways to help

Special Event Volunteer

Hunger Network has multiple annual events. We often look for volunteers on the planning committees who meet for about 9 months prior to the event and support the organization in a variety of capacities including logistical planning, marketing support, team recruitment and sponsorship solicitation. We also look for volunteers at the events with set-up, tear-down and overall event support.

Food Rescue Hero

Food Rescue heroes help reduce food waste by acting like an "uber" for potentially wasted food. We have tons of partners who have perfectly good food that often goes to waste; and while they do not want to throw it out, transportation is an issue. Food rescue heroes bridge that gap and ensure that food.

How you help Hunger Network relies heavily on volunteer support. Many of the 70+ hunger centers are solely run by volunteers and our innovative Food Rescue Program utilizes hundreds of volunteers to help reduce food waste in Greater Cleveland by saving food destined for landfills from our partners and delivering them to nonprofit partners and hunger centers. We also look for administrative volunteers to champion our fundraising campaigns.
About us The Hunger Network has been working to end hunger and build a healthier community for over 25 years. As Cuyahoga County’s largest emergency food provider, the Hunger Network continues to lead the way through innovation and with nontraditional approaches to serving our neighbors in need.
